For more than 350 years the traditional house has been treating its guests in a special way. In 1642 the “Linde” is first mentioned in the documents of the community of Krumlinden. It used to be the community hall and the public community place underneath the lime tree. In the course of the centuries the farmers kept restoring and enlarging the house. Even today restored beams, some with inscriptions, and the walls (today listed for preservation) are witnesses of this characterizing history. In 1942, Max and Else Siede – hoteliers from Norderney – bought the estate. They left the Linde in 1977 to their granddaughter Birgit and her husband Ewald Brune who comes from an architect’s family in Bremen. They restored the cultural monument in the same year with expertise and an exceptional feeling for the long history of the house, without changing the historical atmosphere of the inn.
Family Brune leads the house up to now with a knack for hospitality and tradition and with the help of their good souls …
