THE MAGIC OF THE BLACK FOREST
Anyone who visits the Münster Valley knows the value of rejuvenation and inspiration. Of quaint Black Forest houses and pastoral vales. Of magnificent woods and lush meadows. The Black Forest surrounding the Münster Valley leaves an impression, both through the richness of its landscapes and the diverse opportunities for cultural events and outdoor activities.
NEW VITALITY
HIKING/CYCLING
From one of the highest mountains in the Black Forest, the Belchen at 1,414 m, to the gentle wine-producing countryside of the Markgräflerland and the plane of the Rhine, there is a vast area of hiking trails and cycle paths to discover, with elevations ranging from 200 m to 1,414 m.
The beautiful Bach-Wanderweg (‘Brook Hiking Trail’) begins right at the door of ‘Zur Linde’. If you’d prefer something a little less demanding at first, there is a shortcut – a shuttle bus can deliver you straight to the Belchen. For further details, maps and tips, our reception desk is ready to help.
NORDIC WALKING
Nine invigorating Nordic walking trails offer a variety of elevations, levels of difficulty and lengths, but all of them pass through enchanting countryside. There are also options to join a local Nordic walking group, or even take a course first.
SKIING
The shuttle bus also makes trips to ski areas and trails near Schauinsland, Belchen and Notschrei. On clear days in winter, sledging is also possible.
GOLF
There are several golf courses in a 30 km radius of ‘Zur Linde’: Freiburger Golfclub (22 km), Golfclub Tuniberg e.V. (10 km), Rhein-Golf-Club Badenweiler (Chalampe 20 km) and Golfclub Markgräflerland Kandern e.V. (30 km).
SPA
Relax at the Vita Classica in Bad Krozingen, a hot springs and sauna paradise, or the Cassiopeia Hot Springs in Badenweiler, with its modern swimming pool. The Alemannenbad in Staufen is also another jewel to be discovered. The outdoor pool was built in 1898, and the residents of Staufen have recently renovated it with a loving eye for detail. The pool is fed by a natural spring and only rarely is chlorine added. And if you make up your mind to hike from Staufen to Münstertal through the Etzenbacher Highlands, you will automatically come across the pool.
